Home-Start is one of Manchester’s leading family support charities. We work in local communities across the city, supporting parents and their children as they navigate through many of life’s difficulties. We support families in their own homes and through a range of bespoke projects.
If parents can’t cope, children suffer. The impact of which can last a lifetime.
Life can be tough and parenting a challenge. There are so many reasons for this, poverty, poor mental health, disabilities, domestic abuse and isolation.
And this is where Home-Start steps in, we offer volunteer-led support to help prevent crisis and family breakdown. Volunteers that are recruited locally and who we train and support before they begin their home-visiting support for a local family.

Home-Start Manchester is one of only 19 charities to receive Government funding for the Starting Well project. – supporting families from diverse communities in overcoming mental health difficulties and digital exclusion.
