Running the London Marathon for Home-Start Manchester!

One of our amazing supporters James Giles is running the London Marathon to raise money for Home-Start Manchester! This is a huge personal challenge and we cant thank James enough for running his first ever marathon to raise money to support families in Manchester.

You can donate and support James via our Virgin Money Giving Page

Here is a little word from James about why he has decided to take on this challenge in support of Home-Start Manchester….

‘Having a happy, healthy four year old at home, I know how hard it is to raise a young child and how isolated you can feel even with friends and family to support you, and without any of the challenges faced by many families. Raising money and awareness of the work Home-Start do, is the least I can do to support such an important service.’

Every donation really helps –

£5 could pay for the course materials needed to equip a volunteer to support families that are experiencing difficulties within their home life.

£25 could pay for a child and their parent to receive a home visit from a volunteer. This could be the only adult interaction that mum or dad receives this week and could make a real difference to their mood and how they are able to cope.

£50 could pay for a volunteer to be trained by one of our expert Family Support Coordinators, and DBS checked so we can be confident that we are sending fully trained and safe volunteers out to support our families.

James has been keeping us up to date with his training and fundraising journey!
