Sahara Project

Launching at the end of 2019, this project is a partnership with The Pankhurst Trust Incorporating Manchester Women’s Aid.

The Sahara project aims to reduce risk & increase safety for black and minority ethnic women & girls using quality interventions including outreach support, accredited group work, drop in support and volunteer support.

Home-Start will coordinate a volunteer peer mentor service for women as part of a ‘step down’ offer within the project. Volunteers will befriend & offer practical support to women and their children in their communities. This may include basic emotional support, practical help to get out of the home and to attend services and appointments, and practical help in the home.
