We are always keen to welcome new volunteers to the team! Are you:
- a parent or have parenting experience?
- able to commit 2-3 hours per week?
- able to attend an intensive induction training programme?
- looking to return to work or study, or wanting to give something back to the community?
- looking to gain new skills
All of our volunteers attend our Course of Preparation, the aim of the course is to build on the skills you already have as a parent or carer, and is not highly academic. The course is a combination of E-learning modules and 2 face to face training days.
Our volunteers are then matched with one of our families and visit the family for 2-3 hours per week, providing practical and emotional support and making a huge difference to that families life.
Please visit our How to Volunteer for us… page for more information and details on how to become a Home-Start Manchester volunteer.

We asked our current volunteers what they get out of volunteering for Home-Start Manchester…
‘Volunteering for me has proved deeply fulfilling on many levels. Fundamentally it makes me feel like a better person‘ – Vicky, Home-Start Volunteer
‘Sense of achievement knowing you are able to make a difference’ – Melissa, Home-Start Volunteer
‘I get a lovely feeling of satisfaction knowing I am making a little difference in someone else’s life’ – Vicki, Home-Start Volunteer
