“If Dad Matters hadn’t come into my life when then did, I have to say, I am not sure if I’d still be here…”

Dads supporting dads, a simple idea that really works. Our Dad Matters project engages with dads in the perinatal period (pregnancy to 2yrs) with attachment and bonding, mental health, supporting partners and accessing services. Please visit our projects page for more information about this project.
Our Dad Matters volunteers contribute invaluable lived experience to other dads, and are uniquely placed to help dads who are expecting a baby, or have a new baby or toddler, to navigate the challenges of mental health and early parenthood.
Volunteers use their own life skills to support other dads, but alongside this, are offered training before offering support.
Volunteering is offered in a number of ways-
- Outreach
- Dad Chat
- Online Support
- Events and Walk n Talks
These are the stories of Dan and Joab, and their Dad Matters journeys.
